Chappatte’s cartoons appear in the International Herald Tribune and the New York Times global opinion Web site. Chappatte also works for the daily Le Temps, in Geneva, and the Sunday edition of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, in Zurich.
In New York, he was an illustrator for The New York Times and worked for Newsweek International. Publications include: Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Courrier International, Khaleej Times.
Graphic journalism is Chappatte’s other passion: from Gaza to the slums of Nairobi, he has been reporting in cartoons since 1995. One of his stories was turned into an animated documentary, “Death in the field” in 2011. Chappatte has published several cartoon books, and has developed animated editorial cartoons.
